Off the coast of an ancient, half-sunken pirate island, you are a marine biologist working on the preservation of coral reefs. With the aid of your diving robots, the rows, you’ll try to discover unique and special species among the reefs. During your exploration, you might even uncover long-lost treasures. Place your rovs wisely and gather the best data, for greatness awaits the most successful scientist on this undersea mission!

The colorful reefs around the former pirate island of Coralia offer a paradise for scientists from all over the world who explore the underwater world with their diving robots and work to preserve the coral reefs. They send their ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) down to find specific species. At the same time, they keep their eyes open as to whether one or the other sunken pirate treasure can not be traced. A few pearls are also welcome to end up being not only a respected researcher but also a wealthy one … This Dice Placement game is about winning the most points with a little luck and making the right decisions – an adventure for the whole family!

My 4-year-old (who is naturally gifted with gaming) played this one with very little assistance, and the 6-year-old was one point away from winning the whole thing, so I think the “10+” age recommendation is bogus. It was a really fun game, though!

Nice and pretty light-weight family game. Once you’ve played a couple of times you’ll see enough strategic depth for a game of it’s play time (roughly half an hour for a 2 player game). So not breathtaking gameplay wise per say, just really good for what it is.
